What was the challenge

• The goal of The KickASS project is to enrich cultural life in various Amstelveen neighbourhoods. KickASS is the answer to a need that has been identified among residents of Amstelveen to be able to enjoy more cultural activities in the residential areas. This project is funded by the municipality of Amstelveen and Amstelidee Foundation.

What was my contribution

• Identified the user needs to enhance the sense of community and belonging for a diverse group of families in one of Amselveen’s neighborhoods
• Designed a cultural and interactive experience to meet the objectives
• Organized and led the initiative after pitching and receiving the funding
• Visited all 61 houses in the street and asked them about their primal family recipe: that famous apple pie, or that crazy harira – every culture has such a dish. These recipes are drawn so that everyone can understand and prepare them. A recipe book of the street is made from these recipes. This book will be presented to the residents during a festive meal together.
